Factory-in-Factory
A manufacturing cell concept created by B&B. This manages all logistics and processing from raw casting to crated assembly ready for shipping within one dedicated cell. In one of these cells, Lycoming is able to order 41 different part variants whenever they need them with a lead time of only two days.
First Article Inspection
One of the primary methods for the inspection and testing of components, it gives objective evidence that all engineering , design and specification requirements are properly understood, verified and recorded. The aerospace standard is AS9102.
