PC-DMIS
Software used with CMM for collection, evaluation and management of manufacturing data.
PDSA
An acronym for Plan, Do, Study, Act. Used to define an improvement cycle by trialing a change and assessing its impact. This is a safer and more effective way to test improvements on a small scale before implementing them across the board.
PFEMA
Acronym for Process Failure Effect Mode Analysis. An analysis of failure modes in a system which classifies them by the severity and likelihood of failure. Helps a team to identify potential failure modes based on past experience and to design those failures out of the system.
PPAP
Acronym for Production Part Approval Process. Used in the supply chain to establish confidence in component suppliers and their production processes by demonstrating that all design records, specifications and requirements are properly understood by the supplier and that the process will produce products consistently meeting these requirements.
